Tamil drama film ‘Jai Bhim’ and
Malayalam action flick ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ have made it to the
Oscars this year, according to a list released by the Academy of Motion
Pictures Arts and Sciences.

On Thursday, the Academy of Motion
Pictures Arts and Sciences, an organisation that administers the Oscars,
released a lengthy list of 276 films that will be eligible for the awards this
year. Only two Indian films have made it to the list, including Suriya starrer
‘Jai Bhim’ and Mohanlal’s ‘Marakkar’.

Jai Bhim’s production house, 2D
Entertainment, took to Twitter to express its gratitude and wrote,
“Into the #Oscars race! #JaiBhim makes it into the 276 films shortlisted
by @TheAcademy for the 94th Academy Award nominations.”

Just last week, a
snippet from the film had managed to make it to the Oscars library, being the
first film to do so in the Tamil industry.

role, the film also features Suniel Shetty, Arjun Sarja and Keerthy Suresh.
Last year, the critically acclaimed film won three National Awards, including
