Digital streaming giant Netflix dropped the trailer of actor Janhvi Kapoor’s new film ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ on Saturday. The movie will be premiering on the platform on August 12, days before India celebrates its 74th Independence Day.
Taking to Instagram, Janhvi, who plays the role of the titular character, shared the trailer with fans. “Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl ? Trailer! Finally the part of the journey we’re (where) we can start sharing this story that we’ve all been so honoured to be able to tell. Here’s the look into the world of #GunjanSaxena – The Kargil Gir’,” she wrote.

Actor Akshay Kumar shared the trailer on his Twitter account and wished the team luck.

The movie embarks the journey of India’s first woman pilot to participate in combat. Gunjan Saxena participated in the Kargil War of 1999, fought between India and Pakistan, and played a key role in rescuing soldiers.
The movie stars Angad Bedi, Manav Vij, Pankaj Tripathi, Rajat Barmecha, Neena Gupta and Vijay Varma in important roles.
