This week, Jennifer Lopez kept her millions of social media followers guessing. The American actress and singer’s social media accounts went dark on November 22, and her fans are unsure what it means.

JLo’s social media channels, including Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, and Twitter, have suddenly gone dark in their featured/cover images. Lopez has nearly 347 million total followers, with the majority of those (227 million) on Instagram. The photo on that account was missing, leaving only a black dot visible.

While Lopez had deleted all of her Instagram posts, a trail of her previous postings remained on Facebook, Tik Tok, and Twitter. Such celebrity actions usually precede some sort of major announcement. According to Deadline, The Hustlers and Marry Me actress is about to reveal a new project.

Notably, November 25 marks the 20th anniversary of her third studio album “This Is Me… Then,” which she dedicated to her then-beau (now husband) Ben Affleck. The album featured the singles “Jenny from the Block,” “All I Have,” and “Dear Ben.”
Lopez’s Nuyorican Productions signed a multi-year first-look deal with Netflix in June 2021, covering feature films, TV series, and unscripted content, with a focus on projects that support diverse female actors, writers, and filmmakers.

Lopez scored her best opening for a live-action movie at the domestic box office with STX’s 2019 stripper caper Hustlers which debuted to $33.1 million, and grossed $105M stateside, $157.6M worldwide.
As a recording artist, Lopez has sold over 70 million albums, with J.Lo became her bestselling album with 3.8M copies sold in the US and 12M global. Her Netflix thriller The Mother from director Niki Caro is set to debut in May. Her romantic comedy Shotgun Wedding with Josh Duhamel will hit Prime Video on January 27, 2023.
