American rock ‘n roll legend Jerry Lee Lewis died on Friday, aged 87, due to natural causes at his residence in Mississippi. He is considered one of the most influential pianists of the 20th century and a pioneer of rock ‘n roll music across the globe.

Wives
Lewis was married seven times in his life, including bigamous marriages and a marriage with his underaged cousin.
In 1952, he married Dorothy Barton at the age of 16. The marriage lasted around 20 months and the couple separated in late 1953.
He married Jane Mitchum in September 1953, 23 days before his divorce from Barton. They divorced in 1957 after a married life of four years.
In 1957, at the age of 22, he married his 13-year-old first-cousin Myra Gale Brown. Since his divorce from Mitchum was still not finalised, he remarried Brown again in 1958. Brown filed for a divorce in 1970 on grounds of mental and physical abuse, and adultery.

His fourth marriage was to Jaren Elizabeth Gunn Pate. The marriage lasted eleven years from 1971 to 1982, when Pate died by drowning in the pool of a friend’s house.
His marriage to his fifth wife Shawn Stephens lasted 77 days, ending with her death in 1983. It was alleged that Lewis was responsible for her death, although the allegations were never verified.
He married Kerrie McCarver in 1984 and the marriage lasted 21 years till June 2005.
Lewis got married for the seventh time in 2012 to Judith Brown, ex-sister-in-law of Myra Gale Brown. According to Lewis’ representatives, Judith was beside him at the time of his death.

Children
Jerry Lewis had six children and is survived by four of them.
His first child, a son – Jerry Lee Lewis Jr. was born in 1954 to Jane Mitchum. Lewis Jr. died in 1973 at the age of 19 after he overturned the jeep he was driving.
His second child, Ronnie Guy Lewis was also born to Mitchum in 1956.
Jerry Lewis had two children with Myra Brown – Steve Allen Lewis (1959–1962) and Phoebe Allen Lewis (b. 1963). Steve Allen Lewis died at the age of three in a swimming pool accident.
Jerry Lewis had a daughter, Lori Lee Lewis in 1972 with his fourth wife Jaren Gunn Pate.
