Met Gala is taking place this year on Monday, May 1 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. This year’s theme, which was unveiled in September last year is “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty” which promises to “examine the life” of the late designer’s fashion. The attendees have been notified that the “most authentic approach” would be for attendees “to wear an archival look from one of the labels Lagerfeld led”.

However, they also have the freedom to choose a “modern-day” look by Chanel or Fendi. Both the brands were places where Lagerfeld once worked as a creative director. There is also a third option. Guests are recommended to “find a Choupette,” which is the name of the designer’s beloved Birman cat.
