American character actor Joseph Turkel is renowned for his angular Bronx looks and unique, perceptive voice. Between 1949 and 1998, Turkel consistently produced films and television. He retired in 1998. The actor died recently at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica, California.

1. The Shining- The Shining is a psychological horror movie from 1980 that Stanley Kubrick produced, directed, and co-wrote with author Diane Johnson. Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Scatman Crothers, and Danny Lloyd star in the 1977 Stephen King novel adaptation.

2. Blade runner- The science fiction movie Blade Runner, which was produced in 1982 by Ridley Scott and adapted by Hampton Fancher and David Peoples. It is a remake of Philip K. Dick’s 1968 book Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep, starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos. The movie takes place in a dystopian Los Angeles of 2019, where the powerful Tyrell Corporation has created replicants, or synthetic humans, to labour in space colonies. Burnt-out officer Rick Deckard (Ford) grudgingly agrees to track down a fugitive cell of advanced replicants led by Roy Batty (Hauer).

3. The dark side of the moon- A science fiction horror movie from 1990, The Dark Side of the Moon was released direct to video. The screenplay was written by brothers Chad and Carey Hayes, and it was directed by D. J. Webster.

4. Wild in the Sky- A 1972 American action comedy starring Georg Stanford Brown, Brandon De Wilde (in his penultimate film performance), Keenan Wynn, Tim O’Connor, and Dick Gautier, Wild in the Sky was directed by William T. Naud. In December 1973, the movie had its New York premiere under the name Black Jack. American International Pictures distributed the movie in March 1972.

5.
