WWE wrestler-turned-actor John Cena paid tribute to Sidharth Shukla by sharing a photo of the actor on Instagram. Sidharth died at the age of 40 on Thursday, leaving the Indian showbiz industry and his fans stunned.

Taking to Instagram on Saturday, John Cena shared a black-and-white photo of Sidharth without any caption. The post has since garnered 776,973 likes and over 8,400 comments.

The wrestler is known for posting photos on Instagram without captions. His bio on the social media platform reads, “Welcome to my Instagram. These images will be posted without explanation, for your interpretation. Enjoy.”

Sidharth was declared dead on arrival around 10.20 am on Thursday when he was taken to the Cooper Hospital in Mumbai’s suburban Juhu. He was cremated on Friday in the presence of his family, friends and colleagues.

Though initial reports suggested that the actor died of a massive heart attack, authorities are yet to confirm the exact cause of death. Police, however, said that no sign of unnatural death was found in the initial autopsy report.

“On the face of it, there were no signs of unnatural death but the opinion has been reserved,” a police officer said, PTI reported.

Sidharth became a household name with his role in the long-running TV show ‘Balika Vadhu‘ and as the winner of ‘Bigg Boss 13.’ He also participated in reality shows like ‘Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 6’ and ‘Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 7’ before making his Bollywood debut with the Karan Johar-produced “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania” where he had a supporting role.

Several Bollywood and TV celebrities expressed shock and were in a state of disbelief over the untimely demise of Shukla. Most of them took to social media to pay tributes to the actor. 

Actor Tisca Chopra wrote, “Numb.. Siddharth, neighbour and occasional walking buddy .. #SiddharthShukla RIP .. hope aunty and friends have the strength to bear your immense loss”.

Actor Parineeti Chopra wrote, “Unable to process this. Rest in Peace #SidharthShukla. You were truly loved, by millions.”
