Johnny Depp, the renowned actor and musician, is facing a setback that disappoints his American fans. Due to a recent ankle injury, he has been advised by his doctors to temporarily postpone his upcoming U.S. performances with his band, The Hollywood Vampires, according to sources close to the actor as reported by TMZ.

During his press run in Cannes, Depp initially injured his ankle, and the strain was further aggravated while he powered through consecutive music gigs, particularly during the Jeff Beck tribute shows in the UK. As it turns out, Depp’s ankle is now confirmed to be fractured, preventing him from flying for the foreseeable future. Consequently, the first three scheduled performances on the East Coast have been canceled.

The affected shows were planned in Manchester, NH, Boston, and Bethel, NY. However, Depp and his team are currently exploring options to reschedule these performances toward the end of their tour, which is set to conclude in late July in Europe.

Expressing his disappointment, a source close to Depp explained the circumstances surrounding the injury, stating, “Johnny went from two full days of press appearances in Cannes, straight to London for rehearsals and then played two tribute shows in honor of his dear friend, the late great Jeff Beck.” The source added, “His ankle was already bothering him at Cannes, and it got progressively worse, but he wanted to honor his commitments for ‘Jeanne du Barry’ and for Jeff. He’s devastated to postpone the shows, but his doctor believes flying could make the situation much worse. He plans to rest up so the European dates go off without a hitch,” referring to Depp’s upcoming performances in Europe, starting in June.

This development comes as Depp has been prioritizing his health, adopting a more serious approach toward his well-being during his career comeback. The actor has been focusing on ample rest and maintaining a clean diet. This decision to postpone the shows further demonstrates his commitment to recovery and overall health.

Since his last performance in the United States back in November, where he shared the stage with Jeff Beck in Los Angeles, Depp has primarily been spending time abroad. It is worth noting the coincidence that Amber Heard, Depp’s ex-partner, has also been in Europe during this period.
