Johnny Depp, the
Hollywood actor who recently won a defamation suit against Amber Heard, is
dating his lawyer Joelle Rich, Page Six reported. Rich represented Depp in his libel
trial against The Sun in the United Kingdom. Joel Rich is married but separated
from her husband, her divorce isn’t finalised yet, the report stated.

Joelle Rich is
based out of London. Mother to two children, Rich’s bio reads that she “works
to defend reputations against false and defamatory allegations in print, online,
and on social media.” It further states that she has “particular expertise in
protecting individuals’ privacy from unwarranted intrusion and media attention.”

While Rich wasn’t
one of the lawyers who represented Depp in the US trial, she is reported to
have been in the courtroom for “support”. “There was no professional obligation
for her being there,” Page Six quoted a source who spoke to US Weekly. The
source further said that Depp and Rich would meet up in hotels during the early
days of their relationship.

Reports of Johnny
Depp dating Rich come after the 59-year-old actor was rumoured to be dating
another of his lawyers – Camille Vasquez. Vasquez represented Depp in his
defamation trial in the United States against ex-wife Amber Heard which Depp
won. When the rumours were first floated, Vasquez had quickly shut them down
calling them “sexist” and “unethical”.

“I care very
deeply about my clients, and we have obviously become close. But when I say ‘we’,
I mean the entire team, and of course that includes Johnny,” Vasquez told
People in June. She’d further said that Johnny Depp and her had been friends
and Depp had been her client for four and a half years.

“It’s also an
unethical charge being made. It’s sexist. It’s unfortunate, and it’s
disappointing, but at the same time, it kind of comes with the territory. I can’t
say I was all that surprised.”
