Kaizen Ibrahim, who was arrested on Friday and sent to judicial custody earlier on Saturday over drug charges, was granted bail by Mumbai’s Esplanade court on the same day, news agency ANI reported.

Ibrahim was arrested by the anti-narcotics bureau over alleged drug peddling charges on Friday evening in connection with Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case. He was then sent to a 14-day judicial custody by a Mumbai court earlier today, as per ANI reports.

The agency has also arrested actor Rhea Chakraborty’s brother Showik Chakraborty and Sushant Singh Rajput’s former houser manager Samuel Miranda over similar charges. They have been sent to NCB custody until September 9.

Showik Chakraborty and Samuel Miranda have been placed under arrest under various sections of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, news agency PTI reported quoting a senior NCB officer.

Rhea, the main accused of the death case which is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation, is likely to be summoned by the NCB as well. The drug abuse angle of the case surfaced when the 28-year-old was being questioned by the Enforcement Directorate over money laundering charges linked to the same case.

Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead at his Bandra residence on June 14. The Mumbai Police, who were probing the case, initially called it a suicide, before the CBI took over after receiving an order by the Supreme Court. The probe is a result of Rajput’s father KK Singh lodging an FIR with the Bihar Police, accusing Rhea and six others for abetting to the actor’s suicide and various other charges.
