The actor also accused Akhtar of threatening her and said she did not trust the judge at the Metropolitan Magistrate’s court in Andheri, reports NDTV.

The actor appeared in court today for the the hearing. While the veteran lyricist reached Andheri court early, Kangana’s lawyer had informed that the actress would appear soon. After Kangana finally made her appearance, the hearing was adjourned till November 15.

After the actress failed to appear in front of the Bombay High Court the previous time, the court extended the time till Monday, September 20. The actress’ lawyers had said she had symptoms of COVID and was tired because of travelling. The Court said that failing to appear this time, a warrant will be issued against the Bollywood actress.

At today’s hearing Kangana’s lawyer, Rizwan Siddique, accused  Akhtar of making threatening phone calls, in which he allegedly said “… you would commit suicide”.

“Now she has recorded this in her complaint… when Javed Akhtar says he had nothing to do with this matter (the subject of the alleged defamation), why did he call Kangana?” he asked in court.

Siddique also indicated his client did not trust the judge hearing the case – metropolitan magistrate RR Khan, who last week warned Kangana that failure to appear for today’s hearing could lead to the court issuing a warrant.
