Kangana Ranaut is excited to receive her fourth National Film Award  for her performance in 2019 film ‘Panga’ and ‘Manikarnika’. Taking to her Instagram, she shared a picture of her look and wrote, ” All set to receive the highest honour for an artist in the country today …. National Award.”

She wore a beautiful handloom sari that gave a glipmse of her  2021 film ‘Thalaivii’ in which she depicted the role of late politician Jayalalithaa.

In ‘Panga’ , directed and co-written by Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari and produced by Fox Star Studios, Kangana plays the role of  a kabbadi player. 

Rooted in the subculture of societal facts, It’s an emotional roller coaster tale of a middle-class Indian woman, where a forgotten Kabaddi world champion catalyzes an inner desire to give a new meaning to her existing role as a wife and mother and takes an ingenious decision to come back to the sport despite the challenges of age stereotypes and new generation complexities.

On the other hand, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ is a 2019 Indian Hindi-language period drama film based on the life of Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi.It was directed by Radha Krishna Jagarlamudi and Kangana Ranaut. She also playes the title role.

Kangana  is known for her versatility and portrayal of strong women in female-centric films. She is also the recipient of several awards, including five Filmfare Awards along with featuring in six times in Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list. In 2020, the Government of India honoured her with the Padma Shri, the country’s fourth highest civilian award.

 She has previously won National Film Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as a substance abusing supermodel in ‘Fashion’  (2008), and for ‘Queen’ and ‘Tanu Weds Manu’
