Actor Kangana Ranaut on Monday shared some photos from her upcoming film ‘Thalaivi’, a biopic of former Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa. The actor shared how she
underwent the dramatic weight changes for the film and how challenging it was for her. The trailer of ‘Thalaivi’ will release on Tuesday, which coincides with Kangana’s birthday.   

The movie
is expected to show the journey of J Jayalalithaa from the film screen to the CM’s
chair. The actor is seen wearing retro outfits, a golden ensemble for a dance
number and replicating the minister’s iconic look, in the photos shared by her.

After
sharing the pictures, Kangana said that weight loss was not the only challenge
she had to face while making the movie. 

“One day to go for the trailer launch of #Thalaivi
Gaining 20 kgs and loosing it all back within a span of few months wasn’t the only challenge that I faced while filming this Epic Biopic, wait is getting over just in few hours Jaya will be your forever.”

Kangana Ranaut was not happy
about how the weight gain and loss damaged her body but was happy to see how it
helped in shaping up the movie.

The
film is directed by director AL Vijay. The actress said that the first half dubbing was
done and only the second half was left, sharing a behind-the-scenes pictures
featuring the director Vijay. She express how sad she felt thinking over the
fact that their journey together was coming to an end.

The Queen actor won National Film Award on Monday for her role in ‘Manikarnika’ and ‘Panga’
