Katy Perry performed a mix of By The Grace of God and Still Need You with Haven Madison at the 2023 American Idol final on Sunday. Hawaii’s Iam Tongi won the show and Megan Danielle came second.

‘By the Grace of God’ is written by Perry and Greg Wells. It was a part of the former’s fourth studio Prism. The song is about the singer experiencing suicidal thoughts during her divorce from Russell Brand.

Haven Madison is one of the ‘Idol’ contestants of season 21.

The American Idol 2023 final episode ran for three hours. Tongi, Megan Danielle and Colin Stough were the three finalists.

Tongi and Danielle were top two.

Judges Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie, along with former Idol stars Clay Aiken and Ruben Studdard performed in the final.

Ellie Goulding, James Blunt, Jazmine Sullivan, Jelly Roll, Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon, Kylie Minogue, Lainey Wilson, Lauren Daigle, Pitbull and TLC also performed.

However, Perry’s performance stood out. The 38-year-old was praised on social media.

“YOU AND HAVEN. LITERALLY BEST DUET OF THE NIGHT,” another one added.

“That performance from @katyperry and Haven made me feel all the things. Gonna need that on Spotify STAT,” a third one tweeted.
