Kaun
Banega Crorepati Season 14
is going to get its first crorepati of the season
tonight—Kavita Chawla from Kolhapur. On September 19, she appeared on the show
and on September 20, she will be answering a question for 7.5 crores.

The 45-year-old had has been waiting to get on the hot seat since the very first season of the show in 2000. Last year, she obtained an audition for the fastest finger first round but got disheartened as she could not make it. This time, however, she was determined to become a crorepati, and her wish came true.

When
she could not make it last year, she was crestfallen as she had disappointed a
number of people. She also had to face a number of comments from people,
including taunts like “crorepati ban gayi (Have you become a millionaire?)”.

She
did not reply to those comments and today, she is a crorepati.

She
recalled in an interview with the Indian Express that she was very upset and
heartbroken when she could not reach the hot seat. “I
remember sitting on the set and crying my heart out.” It was at that moment
when Amitabh Bachchan went towards her and asked her to not get demotivated.
These words kept coming back to her throughout the year and this time she had
fixed her mind that she would win. “His words kept echoing in my mind and I
decided to come back, this time with the mission to win.”

She
was determined to audition again and, as according to her son’s words, the
selection was the result of immense hard work and patience.

She
also expressed how fond she is of the veteran actor. She was impressed by the
fact that Amitabh Bachchan did not exhibit any kind of attitude and made them
all feel welcome and comfortable. “He was so frank and open to converse that I
really had a lot of fun with him”, she recalled.

At
the end of the game, Big B complimented her by saying that she played a clever
game and Chawla was overwhelmed by the compliment and called it the highlight
of her day.

In
another interview with Times of India, she said that while making her son
study, she also used to learn with him. Kavita Chawla, a 12th class pass out, is a
homemaker from Kolhapur.
