To test his creation, he first gave it to Wade Morrison, the proprietor of the pharmacy, who also liked it. Customers at Morrison’s soda machine quickly discovered about Alderton’s new beverage and started ordering a “Waco.” Alderton gave Morrison the recipe, and he christened it Dr. Pepper (later stylized as “Dr Pepper”).
