President Kevin Feige recently teased that Black Panther:
Wakanda Forever will be very special to MCU fans. The upcoming sequel to the
2017 blockbuster hit Black Panther will be quite an undertaking for the studio,
as the film lost its titular hero Chadwick Boseman last year.

Boseman passed
away due to cancer. The filmmakers have decided to honor the actor with Wakanda
forever and also promised that they will not recast his character T’Challa and
decided to retire the character after 
Chadwick’s memorable embodiment of the role

Black Panther 2 production began at the end of June. Almost
every core cast member is likely to return for the spin-off film. Ryan Coogler
is the writer and director of the film.

Film’s title certainly suggests that
the storyline of the movie will be focused more on the technologically advanced
African nation rather than one hero. The movie is also focused on honoring
Boseman’s legacy.

Kevin spoke to Rotten Tomatoes about the upcoming Phase 4 of
the MCU and also what Black Panther fans can expect from the forthcoming film
in 2022. Feige revealed that the focus is making the sequel something
“very special” for Marvel fans.

Feige said, “And I will say that Ryan and our producer,
Nate Moore, and the entire cast, and our co-writer Joe Robert Cole, have done
some remarkable things in the story and the draft. The team is assembling once
again and cameras roll in the not-too-distant future on that. And it will be
extremely emotional across the board, but I think they have something very
special in mind.”

After being announced in 2019, the movie is set to premiere
on July 8, 2022. Chadwick’s unexpected passing was a shock to not only his fans
but the studio as well.

Kevin also said that they didn’t know about his health
issues just like the rest of the world. With Coogler’s masterful filmmaking
skills fans are expecting Wakanda Forever to deliver a culturally impactful
story.
