South Korea’s figure skating star Kim Yuna will marry her boyfriend Ko Woo Rim in a private ceremony in October this year. On July 25, Kim Yuna’s management agency, ‘All That Sports’, announced that the wedding ceremony will take place in the presence of family and close friends. Ko Woo Rim’s record label associate company also announced the wedding on Monday.

Kim Yuna, the two-time Olympic Medalist, met Ko Woo Rim, the popular Korean singer, during ‘All That Skate’ ice show in 2018. At that event, Kim showed her class on the ice rink. That was the first time since her retirement in 2013 that she ice-skated. Ko Woo Rim’s band Forestella presented a celebratory performance at that event.

It was reported that the couple started dating in 2021 but the agencies announced that they are in a relationship for 3 years. Beat Interactive, the record label of Ko Woo Rim said in their official announcement, ”We are announcing the good news about our artist Ko Woo Rim. Ko Woo Rim will tie the knot with ‘Figure Skating Queen’ Kim Yuna this October. The wedding will be held in private with close friends and family so please understand that we can’t notify the exact date and place of the wedding.”

In an official announcement, Kim Yuna’s management agency said, ‘’In late October in Seoul, Kim Yuna will be getting married to vocalist Ko Woo Rim. Both Kim Yuna and Ko Woo Rim want to hold an ordinary wedding ceremony with family and close friends, so we will be carrying out the ceremony in private. We ask for understanding from the fans.”

Ko Woo Rim is a popular Korean vocalist and the youngest member of the Forestella, the male vocal quartet that won ‘Phantom Singer 2’ in 2017. Kim Yuna, the gold medalist in Vancouver Olympics 2014, is the only female figure skater to win all international major competitions including Olympics, world championships, and ISU Grand Prix.
