Singer KK, who was active on social media, shared glimpses of his Kolkata gig on Instagram, nearly 11 hours before his death. The images show his excitement as he performed for a packed crowd at Nazrul Mancha.

“Pulsating gig tonight at Nazrul Mancha. Vivekananda College !! Love you all,” KK captioned the carousel post of pictures from his performance on May 30.

In the photos, KK can be seen walking across the stage with the mic in his hand. He gestured to the crowd with his arms raised.

The previous post was a selfie of him with his team at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport’s tarmac while boarded the flight to Kolkata.

“Enroute Kolkata selfie,” KK wrote.

Regarded as one of the top singers of Bollywood, KK died Tuesday evening at the age of 53. He collapsed while performing at an event for a college. KK was rushed to the CMRI hospital where doctors declared him dead.

An official cause of death is yet to be revealed. However, some media reports said that the singer died of a heart attack.

In a statement, CMRI hospital said, “Singer KK was brought dead to our hospital. The body has been kept in our mortuary for the night and has already been formally handed over to the police: Statement from Hospital,” according to India.com.

KK released his first album, Pal in 1999, which became a big hit among the teens. Following this, he went on to record several hit songs for many movies. He made his Bollywood debut with Maachis (Chor aaye hum woh galiya).

The singer-composer, whose real name was Krishnakumar Kunnath, gave several hits including Tadap Tadap (Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam, 1999), Dus Bahane (Dus, 2005), and Tune Maari Entriyaan (Gunday, 2014).
