American actor Kristen Stewart has been
named as the President of the Jury for the 73rd Berlin International
Film Festival, set to be held in February 2023. Stewart would be leading the
panel in selecting the winners of the Golden and Silver Bear top awards.

“We’re excited about
Kristen Stewart taking on this distinguished task. She’s one of the most
talented and multi-faceted actors of her generation. From Bella Swan to the
Princess of Wales she has given life to everlasting characters. Young, shining
and with an impressive body of work behind her, Kristen Stewart is the perfect
bridge between U.S. and Europe,” said Mariette Rissenbeek and Carlo Chatrian, chiefs
of the 73rd annual Berlinale.

Juliette Binoche, 2019

French actor and dancer Juliette Binoche
served as the President of the Jury at the 69th Berlin Film
Festival. The actress is the recipient of several French and international
awards, including an Academy Award. Binoche is also a stage actress and a
dancer.

Meryl Streep, 2016

Meryl Streep is an American actor, often
described as ‘the best actress of her generation’. Particularly known for her versatility,
she is the recipient of three Academy Awards, eight Golden Globes, and three
Primetime Emmy’s among others. The Sophie’s Choice star served as the Jury
President at the 66th Berlin International Film Festival.

Isabella Rossellini, 2011

Italian actor, author, and
philanthropist Isabella Rossellini was selected as the Jury President at the
61st Berlin Film Festival. She is the daughter of Swedish screen actor Ingrid
Bergman and Italian filmmaker Roberto Rossellini. She is noted for her roles in
the films Blue Velvet (1986) and Death Becomes Her (1992).

Tilda Swinton, 2009

Tilda Swinton is a British actor best known
for her roles in Orlando (1992), Michael Clayton (2007), and We Need to Talk
about Kevin (2011) among others. Ranked as one of the greatest actors of the 21st
Century, she served as the President of the Jury at the 59th Berlin
International Film Festival.

Charlotte Rampling, 2006

Tessa Charlotte Rampling is an English
actor, most notably known for her work in European arthouse films in English,
French, and Italian. Considered an icon of the youth-driven cultural movement
Swinging Sixties, Rampling became the Jury President at the 56th
Berlin International Film Festival.

 Frances McDormand, 2004

American actor and producer Frances
Louise McDormand served as the President of the Jury at the 54th
Berlin International Film Festival. Spanning a career over four decades, she
has received four Academy Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, and one Tony Award,
making her one of the very few artists to achieve the ‘Triple Crown of Acting’.

Mira Nair, 2002

Mira Nair is an Indian-American filmmaker
based in New York City, who became the Jury President at the 52nd
Berlin Film Festival. She is known for making films specialized for international
audiences while giving them an insight into the economic, cultural, and social
spheres of Indian society. The Namesake, Monsoon Wedding, and Salaam
Bombay! are some of her most known works.

Gong Li, 2000

Gong Li is a Chinese actor who has
starred in three out of the four Chinese films that were nominated for the
Academy Award for Best International Feature Film. Noted as one of the best stresses
of Chinese cinema, Li served as the President of the Jury at the 50th
Berlin International Film Festival.
