Lady Gaga performed ‘Hold My Hand’ from ‘Top Gun: Maverick‘ at the Oscars 2023. The song has been nominated in the Best Original Song category.

The singer posed on the Oscars 2023 red carpet in a stunning sheer Versace gown. However, for the performance, she went for a no-makeup look and opted for jeans and a T-shirt. Her look impressed the fans, who took to social media to praise her.

“Lady Gaga taking off her makeup and putting on jeans and a t shirt for her performance after being so glam is HUGE musical theater kid cabaret show energy,” one person wrote.

“I wonder how many people in the audience envied Lady Gaga for taking all the makeup, drip, and excess off for the performance and being so comfortable on stage,” another user tweeted.

Another Twitter user wrote, “Lady Gaga walked the red carpet earlier all glammed up but walked out on that stage with no makeup on and just wearing black shirt, jeans & sneakers, while delivering a powerful performance of Hold My Hand–ICONIC!”

Initial reports suggested that Lady Gaga will not be attending the event this year.

Oscars producer Glen Weiss in a press conference earlier this month said, “We have a great relationship with Lady Gaga and her camp. She is in the middle of shooting a movie right now. Here, we are honoring the movie industry and what it takes to make a movie after a bunch of back and forth… It didn’t feel like she can get a performance to the caliber that we’re used to with her and that she is used to. So, she is not going to perform on the show.”
