‘LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga’, the much anticipated upcoming action-adventure video game by TT Games, dropped a six-minute long video detailing its gameplay features on Thursday.

The game has been touted as “the biggest LEGO video game yet,” and will include content from all nine ‘Skywalker Saga’ movies, along with content from LEGO’s video game adaptations of ‘The Last Jedi’ and ‘The Rise of Skywalker’.

Players will first be given an option to choose a ‘Star Wars‘ trilogy of their choice from the nine ‘Skywalker Saga’ films and can play through each ‘Star Wars’ Episode at their leisure. Whatever the Episode chosen, players will be able to play through the entire storyline, donning the robes of major characters along the way.

The game has introduced a revamped combat system that will allow players to string together combo chains, as well as allowing players to block and counter incoming attacks. The game will feature both lightsaber- and blaster-oriented combat, and a new cover system has been added that will allow players to take cover from enemy fire and attack at opportune moments. Fans of ‘Star Wars’ will also be delighted to know that players can also harness the Force to turn the tide of combat or influence others in dialogue and story-related aspects.

As players journey through the game, they will be able to unlock new planets, which can be accessed via the Galaxy Map in the game. Players will be able to explore planets at their own whim, and all planets will contain breathtaking and iconic locations from the ‘Star Wars’ universe. Exploration will also be rewarded through in-game items that will help players improve their character

However, space travel, as in the movies, is hardly a walk in the park, and players will have to engage in exhilarating space combat scenarios as they fly between planets.

Every Episode in every saga will feature multiple levels. Further, these levels will not be linear and will allow players to take alternate routes, thereby allowing for both combat-oriented and stealth-oriented gameplay.

The game will also feature a Free Play mode that will allow players to live out their ‘Star Wars’ fantasies as their favourite characters.

The game will feature over 300 characters, more than 100 unique vehicles, and 23 planets, making it a game of truly epic proportions that does justice to the grand scale of ‘Star Wars’.

The game is scheduled for release on April 5, 2022.
