Netflix has revealed a significant change coming to season 4 of The Witcher, even though season 3 hasn’t yet aired: Liam Hemsworth will take up Henry Cavill‘s role as the titular Geralt of Rivia.

Liam Hemsworth wrote on Instagram that he’s “over the moon about the opportunity to play Geralt of Rivia” in a post on the development. 

Hemsworth is an Australian actor. He was born to Leonie, an English teacher, and Craig Hemsworth, a social-services counsellor, in Melbourne, Australia, on January 13, 1990. Actors Chris Hemsworth and Luke Hemsworth are his two elder brothers.

Hemsworth serves as the Australian Childhood Foundation’s ambassador. Hemsworth while talking about his association with the foundation, said, “I have the best parents you can have. They have worked in child protection for twenty years and have only ever given me encouragement and support. The world is a scary enough place as it is for children. It is important that home should always be a safe place for them.” 

He acted in the children’s television programme The Elephant Princess and the soap opera Neighbours. Hemsworth played several roles in American films including The Last Song’s Will Blakelee, The Hunger Games’ Gale Hawthorne, and Independence Day: Resurgence’s Jake Morrison.

The actor is 6 foot 3 inches (191.1 cm) tall.

Hemsworth married singer Miley Cyrus on 23 December 2018. The couple finalised their divorce on 28 January 2020 after announcing their separation in August 2019.

Hemsworth was reported to be seriously dating model Gabriella Brooks after being first linked to her in December 2019. In August 2022, breakup rumours relating to the couple surfaced, however, neither party has commented on those reports to date.

Hemsworth has a net worth of $28 million.
