The 77-year-old actress Liza Minnelli reportedly skipped the premiere of the new musical “New York, New York,” which is based on the song and movie that forever altered her life. The premiere took place in the latter part of April without the Hollywood legend. This has caused a surge of health worries for the celebrity, and fans are dreading the worst.
A source told RadarOnline.com, “There’s no way Liza would miss this unless something was seriously wrong. Her health isn’t good. She’s using a wheelchair and doesn’t get out much — and after moving to California, the trip back to New York would have been too much.”

A Minnelli spokesman, however, appeared to deny having any health issues, saying the “Cabaret” singer did not want to make the show “all about Liza” and wanted to keep the focus on others. However, Liza hasn’t been seen in some months. The Cabaret actress was last seen by RadarOnline.com having dinner with friends in Los Angeles in July 2022.
Minnelli made an uncommon appearance at the Academy Awards in a wheelchair with Lady Gaga the previous year. The ‘Rent-a-Cop’ actress’ friend, musician Michael Feinstein, claims that everything was planned to diffuse the commotion that followed Will Smith’s slap of Chris Rock.

Liza was left “discombobulated” and fumbling over her lines behind the scenes, which raised concerns about her condition. Gaga raised more questions when she was overheard telling the actress, “I got you.”
However, Feinstein, a close friend of the celebrity, shot down the health concerns.
“She was so shaken that she was discombobulated. She was nervous, and it made her look like she was out of it. Can you imagine being suddenly forced to be seen by millions of people the way you don’t want to be seen? That’s what happened to her,” he said.

Scott Gorenstein, her former publicist, reportedly commented on her being away from Hollywood: “Liza is living her best life, not having to be in front of the cameras. She’s been under tremendous pressure her entire life to perform for audiences. The past couple of years has allowed her to relax and enjoy another phase of her life.”
“She has had some health problems. However, when an opportunity comes in front of me that says ‘Would Liza Minnelli like to present the Best Picture Oscar with Lady Gaga?’ the quiet life goes out of the window! Liza is a legend and she deserves to be at the Academy Awards, so I put it in front of her people and recommended that she do it. I wanted to remind people who she is,” Gorenstein added.
