The third chapter of “Fantastic Beasts” is all set to win over the hearts of its fans yet again. The first footage of the movie gives us an first insight to the role of Gellert Grindelwald being played by the fan– favorite Mads Mikkelsen this time. In the earlier two movies of the franchise, Johnny Depp had played the character.

Mikkelsen had taken over the role from Johnny Depp, owing to the latter’s legal controversies with British newspaper “The Sun” as well as over accusations of abuse against his wife, Amber Heard. 

Mikkelsen talked about his approach towards the character of Grindelwald in December 2020, saying, “There has to be a bridge between what Johnny did and what I’m going to do. And at the same time, I also have to make it my own. But also, we have to find a few links [to the previous version of the character] and some bridges, so it doesn’t completely detach from what he’s already masterfully achieved.”

Although the official trailer of the “Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore” is scheduled to release on Monday, December 13, 2021, a short teaser was released by Warner Bros. on December 10, 2021. The teaser was released to celebrate the  20th anniversary of the film franchise. The two minute, eighteen second video majorly revolved around the “Harry Potter” fandom. These include the book fans, fans of the stage play called “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” as well as film fans. However, the last few seconds of the teaser provides the viewers with footage from the much awaited Fantastic Beasts 3.”

“The world as we know it is coming undone,” says Albus Dumbledore played by Jude Law in the footage. “Things that seem unimaginable today will seem inevitable tomorrow. Should you agree to do what I ask, you’ll have to trust me, even when every instinct tells you not to.”

The fans are going heads over heals after seeing the first look  Mads Mikkelsen as Gellert Grindelwald. The franchise and its audience is all set to experience this new take to the movie series.
