Actor Mark Patton is gravely-ill with AIDS and is admitted to a Mexican hospital. 

A GoFundMe page was set up to raise funds to transfer the Nightmare on Elm Street 2 star to a hospital in the US for better treatment. In 1999, the 63-year-old was diagnosed with HIV on his 40th birthday. At the time, was given only a year to live. 

In 1998, his boyfriend Murphy was killed by the disease. However, Patton could outlive his prognosis due to the advances in treatment.

However, Patton, who has “been ill for quite some time now,” was thought to have side effects of Covid. The actor’s manager Peter Valderrama revealed Saturday that Patton’s illness was “quite clearly AIDS-related ailments,” according to the fundraiser.

Patton has reportedly been forced to cancel several scheduled appearances, and now “has decided to release his news in the hopes that his community could help him,” Valderrama wrote on his client’s behalf.

“As his fans know very well, Mark takes his events very seriously and values any opportunity to meet with them in person- especially after the last few years with covid seriously crippling those opportunities.”
