Marvel fans were treated to a surprise at the 72nd Primetime Emmy Awards when the trailer of the franchise’s upcoming series ‘WandaVision’ was released. The trailer taps on themes of time travel, alternate realities, and the afterlife among others.

The series is based on Marvel Comics’ two characters with superpowers– Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlett Witch and Vision, played by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, respectively. The trailer shows them living a dream life in the 1950s, at a town where they have just moved in.

However, things are not as simple as they seem. When one of their neighbours asks them about their past, neither of them seem to remember it. It seems that every memory from ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ and ‘Avengers: Endgame’ has been wiped off.

“Welcome to WandaVision. Coming soon to Disney+. Marvel Studios’ captivating new series “WandaVision” stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany, and marks the first series from Marvel Studios streaming exclusively on Disney+. The series is a blend of classic television and the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff and Vision—two super-powered beings living idealized suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems,” the synopsis of the trailer reads.

Directed by Jac Schaeffer, the six-episode series does not have any release date yet.
