Duncan Crabtree-Ireland, the SAG-AFTRA chief negotiator, claimed that the negotiations with studios have come to a standstill. As a result, Hollywood actors will strike starting at midnight.
The actors’ decision to go on strike in response to the breakdown in negotiations shows their determination to pursue fair terms and conditions.

Hollywood is essentially shut down as a result of the performers’ decision to join the writers in protesting studios for better terms. This means that all filming will cease, along with all promotional activities like interviews, junkets, premieres, and conventions like Comic-Con.
Several renowned actors have come forward and extended their support for the protest. SAG-AFTRA, a well-known actors’ organization, represents a diverse group of people in the entertainment business. They include A-list celebrities like Meryl Streep, Jennifer Lawrence, and Glenn Close, in addition to daytime performers who play minor roles in television shows.

Notably, the majority of SAG-AFTRA members earlier decided to approve potential industrial action in the event that a satisfactory agreement could not be reached.
The renowned actors openly discussed the concerns that led to the protest. Actor Matt Damon recently voiced his support for the impending strike and underlined the importance of shielding those who could be more susceptible inside the profession. He emphasized the value of defending the rights and welfare of those who are marginalized and implied that the strike intends to raise awareness of and resolve these issues.
While several actors, including Yvette Nicole Brown, Devon Sawa, and Ethan Embry, took to social media to express their stand.

After the talks broke down, SAG-AFTRA issued a statement outlining two issues. First, they stated that the emergence of the streaming ecosystem has reduced compensation, highlighting the necessity to solve this issue and guarantee just recompense for creative artists. Second, the statement recognized the necessity to manage and respond to this dynamic environment and the possible threat that artificial intelligence may pose to creative professions.
