The Johnny DeppAmber Heard trial is getting a lot of media attention with a lot of explosive claims being made from both sides.

Meanwhile, Depp’s lawyer Camille Vasquez is garnering her own fan following. This is in contrast to Heard’s legal team which has been mocked on social media.

In fact, Depp’s fans online have called  Heard’s lead attorney, Benjamin Rottenborn, a “clown” and criticised Elaine Bredehoft, another lawyer in the case, by suggesting they find her unlikeable and incompetent, reported Business Insider.

Vasquez is in the spotlight due to her tough cross-examination of Heard. She is an associate at high-profile law firm Brown Rudnick, which is representing Depp in his $50 million defamation lawsuit against former wife Heard.

Vasquez specialises in litigation and arbitration, according to the firm’s website. She graduated from Southwestern Law School in 2010 and the University of Southern California in 2006 magna cum laude.

Vasquez, 37, also has experience in crisis communication. Before joining Brown Rudnick, she worked for a national firm based in Los Angeles, according to CNN. She was named “One to Watch” by The Best Lawyers in America for 2021-2022 and also speaks Spanish.

On Tuesday, Vasquez tore into Heard on several claims that she had made,  including the one that drugs and alcohol turned Depp into a “monster” who would become violent with her.

“Who was the real monster in this relationship, Ms. Heard?” Vasquez asked.

“It’s half of Johnny. It’s not all of Johnny,” Heard replied. “The other half of him is wonderful and beautiful and the man I loved.”

The attorney also got Heard to admit to the court that she didn’t follow through on a promise to donate part of her $7 million divorce settlement to the American Civil Liberties Union.

Heard has even claimed Depp tried to kill her and denied abusing any of her romantic partners.
