This year’s Met Gala was not unlike its previous versions, where the rich and powerful walked down the red carpet wearing offbeat outfits and posed for the camera. While a lot of new faces were expected at this year’s event, all the buzz was still around the red carpet veterans.

From fashion to political statements, Met Gala 2022 had it all. Celebrities like Kim Kardashians wore outfits worth millions, while United States politicians followed closely with equally impactful garments. New York City mayor Eric Adams donned an “End Gun Violence” coat.

The celebration of American design was themed to gilded glamour, sprouting classic black tailed tuxedoes for many of the men and lots of dresses in black and white for the women. Others paid literal homage to New York City, home base for the Gilded Age, and still more shimmered in metallic golds and silver.
