Mike Tyson disclosed that Jamie Foxx’s health problems might have put the boxer’s much-awaited biopic on hold. The biographical television series, which would be produced by Tyson, Foxx, Antoine Fuqua, and Martin Scorsese, reportedly has Foxx as its preferred pick to play Tyson.
The film has been in development for more than ten years and recently found recognition as a TV movie. However, now it has encountered a new challenge when Foxx experienced an unspecified “medical complication” last month.

Foxx’s health subject came up with Tyson on a recent episode of the “Valuetainment” podcast, hosted by Patrick Bet-David. Throughout the conversation, Tyson reflected back on his upcoming biopic, in which Foxx was slated to play him.
“Well, it was a possibility. I don’t know what’s going to happen now. But, you know, it’s a strong possibility,” said Tyson. “Because, you know, Jamie’s closer to my age, so in order to do him, they were going to do what they did with [the movie] Benjamin Button. They were going to make him look younger,” he added.

It’s unclear if Tyson has firsthand knowledge of Foxx’s health issue, adding, “I have no idea what happened to him. “Hey listen, we can’t anticipate our next breath. We don’t know when we’re going to die. After we leave this, bad stuff could happen.”
