Miley Cyrus‘ flight to Paraguay had to make an emergency landing after the plane was “struck by lightning,” the singer shared on Instagram.
The 29-year-old was en route to Paraguay’s capital Asunción on Wednesday morning to headline the Asunciónico festival when her plane was forced to make an emergency landing due to bad weather.
Jn an Instagram post, the singer wrote, “To my fans and everyone worried after hearing about my flight to Asunción. Our plane was caught in a major unexpected storm and struck by lighting. My crew, band, friends and family who were all traveling with me are safe after an emergency landing.”

She also shared a video, in which a flash of lightning was seen through the window of the aircraft. Miley also shared a photo of the damaged plane.
“We were unfortunately unable to fly into Paraguay. I LOVE YOU,” she wrote.
Soon, people took to the comments section to say that they were glad the singer was safe.
“Thank you for confirming that you are fine, we were quite worried about so much news. We love you,” one person wrote.
“I’m so sorry about it… I’m in Paraguay rn, but I trully understand. Keep safe!” wrote another user.

The city witnessed massive flooding on Tuesday, forcing the organisers of the musical festival to cancel the first day of the event. Foo Fighters, Doja Cat and Machine Gun Kelly were scheduled to perform on day 1.
