In the Netflix series Money Heist, actor Enrique Arce plays Arturo Roman. He was the head of the Royal Mint of Spain. To begin with, his moral character is dreadful: He cheats on his wife, he wants his secretary, with whom he’s having an affair, to get rid of the baby she gave birth to.

Throughout the season, he also attempts to be a hero. He even managed to throw himself into the bank in Season 3, and no one was the better for it. But, over the seasons, he’s steadily deteriorated, drugging and molesting women, pushing himself up on Stockholm (Monica) and promoting substance misuse, and generally being the worst form of himself imaginable.

Arturo is a coward who attempts to avoid serious repercussions by delegating responsibility to others, putting the other captives in jeopardy. He’s also a major attention seeker, as seen by his declaration in Part 4 that he wants to be the hero who saves them all. He’s also a sexist narcissist who believes he has a right to women’s bodies, which he exploits by giving them sleep-inducing anxiety medications. The guy has no empathy or relate-ability and thinking of the robbery as something that wrecked his life is ridiculous – because it was he who decided to ruin his life long before the crime.

People despise him so much that he has his own Instagram hashtag, #Arturito, where all memes depict him as the least favorite figure.
