The Enforcement Directorate on Monday began questioning Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez in an alleged money laundering case, reports ANI. The ‘Bhoot Police’ actress is reportedly being interrogated in the case in Delhi.

According to a report from ANI, Jacqueline is being questioned by the ED for the last 5 hours. The report reads, “Enforcement Directorate (ED) is questioning Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez in Delhi for the last five hours, in a money laundering case.”

According to NDTV News,  she is being questioned as a “witness” in the case linked to alleged conman Sukesh Chandrashekhar.

Earlier, the Enforcement Directorate also summoned leading Tollywood stars including actors and directors in connection with a four-year-old drugs case. The federal agency has issued summons to Telugu stars like Rakul Preet Singh, Rana Daggubati, Ravi Teja, Puri Jagannadh, asking them to appear before the concerned authorities for questioning.

Puri Jagannadh, Charmee Kaur, Mumaith Khan, Navdeep and Nandu have also been summoned by ED. According to ED sources, Calvin Mascarenhas, who was considered to be the alleged kingpin in the drug racket, had the phone numbers of several celebrities saved in his contacts. 

Meanwhile, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) had questioned the celebrities in July 2017 as part of the investigation in the case and had arrested a South African for allegedly supplying cocaine in August 2017.

On August 24, the ED had said that it had seized a sea-facing bungalow in Chennai, Rs 82.5 lakh cash in connection with the case against Sukesh. The case is based on the FIR of Delhi police’s economic offences wing against him and others over alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating, and extortion of about Rs 200 crore.

On the work front, Jacqueline has several projects in her pipeline including Ram Setu and Bachchan Pandey alongside Akshay Kumar, Kick 2 with Salman Khan, Bhoot Police with Saif Ali Khan, Yami Gautam and Arjun Kapoor, and Cirkus with Ranveer Singh and Pooja Hegde.
