The 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards are right around the corner, with a lot in store for lovers of cinema and television. This year’s show, hosted by actor Vanessa Hudgens, will take place on June 5 at Santa Monica’s Barker Hangar.

The event will air alongside ‘MTV Movie and TV Awards: Unscripted’, which will mainly focus on reality and competitive shows. 

The 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards will commence on June 6 at 8 pm ET/PT. On the other hand, MTV Movie and TV Awards: Unscripted will begin at 10 pm ET/PT. 

Both the events will go live on air in over 170 countries, simultaneously broadcasting on channels like MTV2, Comedy Central, VH1,  BET, BET Her, CMT, Paramount Network, TV Land, Nick at Nite, and Logo. 

Viewers will also be able to stream the events on the MTV application.

The 2022 MTV Movie and TV Awards will not mark the first time that Vanessa Hudgens hosts an event for MTV. In December 2020, the 33-year-old compèred when the channel premiered its ‘Greatest of All Time’ special which paid tribute to the most iconic moments in the history of film and television through comic award categories and exciting performances.

Last year, the award show was hosted by comedian Leslie Jones.  

This year, other than host Vanessa Hudgens, celebrities like Chris Evans, Sydney Sweeney, Billy Eichner, Joe Keery, Maria Bakalova, Riley Keough, Awkwafina, Chase Sui Wonders, Jenna Ortega, Pablo Schreiber, and Rachel Sennott will be taking the stage as presenters.

Last week, MTV revealed that actor Jack Black will be felicitated with the Comedic Genius award, the fifth person to receive the honor so far. Singer-actor Jennifer Lopez will also be presented with the Generation Award.
