Rapper Travis Scott added another feather to his cap on Sunday, with his song ‘Franchise’ featuring Young Thug and MIA being adjudged as the ‘Best Hip-Hop’ at the 2021 edition of the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). 

Scott has been enjoying a lot of the limelight lately, featuring on both Kanye and Drake’s recent albums – Donda and Certified Lover Boy – which have been big hits among audiences.

At his acceptance speech for the award, Scott touched upon themes of love, thanking his daughter and mother and signing off with the words “Spread love, and everything will be ok”.

“All the amazing fans out there, I love you all so much. We couldn’t do it without you all…. Before I go, I just want to tell you all, love is the biggest thing that we could ever hold. Everybody to your left and to your right is your friends. I love you all so much!”

Notably, he did not mention his girlfriend Kylie Jenner in his speech. However, Kylie didn’t forget to cheer for her boo as he went on stage to collect his award. The fashion icon shared a picture of Scott holding his trophy on her Instagram story.

Also nominated in this category were Cardi B ft. Megan Thee Stallion for ‘WAP’,  Drake ft. Lil Durk for “Laugh Now Cry Later”,  Lil Baby ft. Megan Thee Stallion for ‘On Me (remix)’, Moneybagg Yo ‘Said Sum’ and Polo G for ‘RAPSTAR’.

The ‘Highest In The Room’ singer is expected to release a fourth studio album, ‘Utopia’ soon. However, despite there being no release date confirmed yet, the album is already being hyped among his fanbase. 

Scott is also expecting his second child soon with girlfriend Kylie Jenner, with the couple confirming their pregnancy early in August.
