Rodrigo, who stars on the Disney Plus spinoff series “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series”, released her official debut single “Drivers License” in January and soon broke streaming records. It reigned atop the Billboard Hot 100 for eight consecutive weeks.

Meanwhile, the 18-year-old’s latest album had given netizens a trip back to their teenage days with her heartbroken, yet feisty lyrics.

Rodrigo’s album also made many feel the need for such soulful, heartbreak music during their own teenage days.

Jennifer Lopez, who three days earlier made her rekindled romance with Ben Affleck official on the red carpet of his new film ““The Last Duel” at the Venice International Film Festival, presented Rodrigo her trophy.

The MTV Video Music Awards kicked off late on Sunday night and is all set to be a star-studded event with celebrities like Justin Bieber, Camila Cabelo, and The Kid Laroi taking the stage.

The presenters at the MTV Video Music Awards will include Rita Ora, 50 Cent, Megan Fox, Billy Porter, Travis Barker, Conor McGregor and Fat Joe, Associated Press reported.
