I have made a lot of decisions that I truly regret.” He added, “I’m resigning from my law firm and entering rehab after a long battle that has exacerbated these murders. I am immensely sorry to everyone I’ve hurt including my family, friends, and colleagues. I ask for prayers as I rehabilitate myself and my relationships.”

The tragic murders of his wife, Maggie, and 22-year-old son, Paul, had garnered national headlines. Maggie was shot to death near the dog kennels on the grounds of the family’s hunting lodge on June 7th. Alex Murdaugh was allegedly shot in the head on Saturday while experiencing car trouble near Varnville, South Carolina. Griffin stated that shots were fired from a truck that had passed Murdaugh on the road and circled back as he was working on his car.
