My Chemical Romance left their fans confused on March 26, after they played the final show of their reunion tour.

After closing out the main show with Famous Last Words and Sleep, MCR returned to the stage for a one-song encore featuring I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love track Vampires Will Never Hurt You. The band then simply left the stage without saying a word or any emotional message to their fans. They just left behind a drumhead with the message “Endless Night” written on it.

Soon after, My Chemical Romance fans took to social media to speculate about what the future holds for the band. “Right up until the end I was so sure this is it. There’s never gonna be more MCR but that REALLY didn’t feel like an ending. The combo of “endless night” on the drum and ending on ‘Vampires’?? that did not feel like a goodbye at all,” wrote one fan.

“That simply wasn’t dramatic enough of an ending for MCR, sorry,” said another.

The emo band originally broke up in 2013. They played their first show together in almost eight years on December 20, 2019, at the Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall in Los Angeles. They ended up grossing a record $1.5 million, which was the most profits that the venue had seen in history.

The band’s world tour was delayed due to COVID. The band kicked off their reunion tour with two shows at The Eden Project in Cornwall last summer. They played gigs across Europe and North America and also appeared at the When We Were Young Festival.

They also performed shows in New Zealand and Australia before two shows in Japan. No other live dates have been confirmed by the band. Neither have they announced the launch of any new music.
