Nadya Suleman, popularly known as Octomom, celebrated her children’s 14th birthday. A video of the occasion was obtained by entertainment website TMZ. The 47-year-old and all her 14 kids were seen eating vegan donuts and singing happy birthday.
Suleman gave birth to eight of her children in January 2009 via IVF. Their names are Nariyah, Isaiah, Maliyah, Jeremiah, Noah, Josiah, Jonah and Makai. She gave birth to her first child, Elijah, in 2001. She conceived a daughter, Ameerah, the next year and then continued with IVF, which resulted in three pregnancies. She gave birth to two more sons, Joshua and Aidan and one set of fraternal twins, Calyssa and Caleb, for a total of six children, four sons and two daughters. After that, she had her octuplets.

Nadya Suleman was born in Fullerton, California. She is the only child of a schoolteacher of Lithuanian descent – Angela Victoria Suleman – and Edward Doud Suleman, a Palestinian restaurant owner turned realtor. Her father also served as a translator in Iraq.

In 1996, Suleman married Marco Gutierrez. They separated in 2000. Gutierrez filed for divorce in November 2006, which was finalized in January 2008.

In 2019, Suleman revealed that her son, Aidan is severely autistic and requires complete assistance in meeting all needs in activities of daily living. She is vegan and says that most of her children prefer vegan food. Suleman calls herself a “socially awkward, painfully shy introvert.”
“My heart broke for you, as the life you once knew spiraled into a state of pandemonium; seemingly the weight of the world upon your tiny shoulders. Not only was my heavy heart saddened by the sudden change in your life, but my parenting deeply driven by guilt,” she wrote in a post celebrating Elijah’s 21st birthday. She describes her daughter Amerah as a “gregarious, outgoing extrovert.”
