Singer Mickey Guyton won hearts by performing the national anthem at the Super Bowl on Sunday. While several people took to social media to talk about her performance, some were quick to point out a labelling error. Videos doing the rounds on social media showed singer Jhene Aiko being introduced during the show and NBC panning to Mickey and labelling the former’s name underneath her.

Social media users were not happy with the error and many of them slammed the network for the same.

“Not the NFL showing Mickey Guyton and saying it’s Jhene Aiko,” one person tweeted.

“Jhene Aiko and Mickey Guyton don’t look alike. Tighten up NBC. All black folks don’t look alike,” wrote another user.

“That was Mickey they zoomed in on, but the caption said Jhené Aiko,” another person tweeted.

“When the showed Mickey when they announced Jhene I was like oh hell naw!” wrote another user.

Prior to Super Bowl that is being held at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, the 38-year-old singer told The New York Post, “It’s Black History Month, and a black country singer gets to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Wow. This is a huge moment for me. It’s a huge moment for black people. And I want to represent that in the best possible way that I can.”

She said she was planning to unite the players, the crowd, and the nation in song.

“I set my intentions with singing the national anthem. I was like, ‘OK, togetherness is what I really want.’ So, I felt the way that people would feel togetherness is if I had a choir, with people that I believe represent America. And, you know, I have everybody from my black queen to a redneck cowboy to a girl that has one leg in this choir. And that’s the America that I’m proud of — us all standing together. We all belong,” she told the outlet.

Meanwhile, Jhene Aiko’s rendition of ‘America the Beautiful’ at Super Bowl LVI also won hearts.
