Netflix released its much-anticipated teen drama show %u2018Never have I ever%u2019 and subscribers are finding themselves distracted because of Darren Barnet%u2019s aka Paxton%u2019s age. In the drama series, Paxton Hall-Yoshida is shown as a 16-year-old high school student. 

But guess what? In real -life the American actor is actually 30. The Mindy Kaling and Lang Fisher-created show which is currently the streaming service%u2019s most-watched show follows Devi Vishwakumar played by Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, a 15-year-old Indian-American who wants to improve her status at school, but friends, family, and her feelings don%u2019t make it easy on her.

While the second season of the show was released recently and was also widely praised, some viewers can%u2019t believe that Barnet is 14 years older than the character he is playing in the series. Some people took it to Twitter to express their concerns. One person wrote, %u201CI can%u2019t watch this series like before knowing the age gap.%u201D While another user asked Netflix to %u201Cstart casting age-appropriate actors/actresses for their shows.%u201D

They further added, %u201CThis sets such unrealistic expectations for young/teenage boys on how they should look like.%u201D While some found it quite uncomfortable that, in the first season the 30-year-old Barnet shared romantic scenes with Devi when she was just 18 years old. The first two seasons of the show are now available to stream on the OTT platform Netflix.

The cast of the show includes actors like Poorna Jagannathan as Dr. Nalini Vishwakumar, Darren Barnet as Paxton Hall-Yoshida, Ramona Young as Eleanor Wong, Lee Rodriguez as Fabiola Torres, Richa Moorjani as Kamala, and Jaren Lewison as Ben Gross to name a few.
