Travis Scott was named as a suspect in a police investigation after an alleged assault at Club Nebula, New York City. TMZ, quoting law enforcement sources, reported that the rapper allegedly punched a person and damaged property.

The rapper allegedly took over the club’s music after he became upset about the volume on his playlist being turned down.

The published video showed the alleged damage Travis made to one of the venue’s video boards. Employees could be seen pointing out the panels that Travis allegedly took his anger out on after getting into an altercation with someone in the DJ booth.

“We’ve obtained several videos showing Travis Scott clearly agitated with someone in the DJ booth, pushing in the chest,” reported TMZ. It quoted Scott, “Back the f*** up.”

Ted Anastasiou, a Travis’ representative said that Travis was at Nebula to do a surprise DJ set. They claim that the whole incident was overexaggerated or a potential cash grab. He said that their team is actively coordinating with law enforcement to get the whole thing resolved.

“While this is clearly a misunderstanding being blown out of proportion by clickbait and misinformation, we are actively working with the venue and law enforcement to resolve and set the record straight. We are confident our client will be cleared of any wrongdoing,” said Mitchell Schuster, Travis’ attorney.

A sound engineer at Nebula, a club on 41st Street reportedly explained the altercation to law enforcement, Scott punched him in the left of his face and he did not have visible injuries. Travis caused approximately $12,000 of damage to a speaker and video screen. 

“This is blown completely out of proportion. It was a great night,” said Richie Romero, a managing partner of Club Nebula. 

It started at around 3 am on Wednesday. The complaint is based on assault and criminal mischief charges.

Travis was set to appear in Rolling Loud California in Los Angeles on Saturday. It is now uncertain if his appearance at the event will be impacted because of the investigation.
