One day after his late brother’s death, Nick Carter cried during a touching tribute to Aaron Carter at a Backstreet Boys concert.

During a Sunday show in London, the band performed “No Place” while photos of Nick and the “I Want Candy” singer flashed across the screen.

The 42-year-old was visibly emotional, sobbing as A.J. McLean, Brian Littrell and Howie Dorough hugged him.

Kevin Richardson, on the other hand, addressed the audience.

“We have heavy hearts tonight because one of our family members died yesterday, and we just wanted to find a moment in our show to recognise him,” he stated. “Nick’s younger brother, Aaron Carter, died yesterday.”

“He’s a member of our family,” Richardson, 51, said.

“We’d like to dedicate this song to our little brother, Aaron Carter,” Dorough, 49, added. “May he rest in peace in heaven.”

On Sunday, Nick Carter spoke publicly for the first time about the death of his younger brother, Aaron Carter. He was 34.

Nick Carter captioned an Instagram post with photographs of the siblings as children and adolescents, saying his “heart is broken” and citing his brother’s struggles with mental illness and addiction, which Aaron Carter openly discussed throughout his life, as “the real villain here.”

“Even though my brother and I have had a complicated relationship, my love for him has never ever faded. I have always held on to the hope that he would somehow, someday want to walk a healthy path and eventually find the help that he so desperately needed. Sometimes we want to blame someone or something for a loss, but the truth is that addiction and mental illness is the real villain here. I will miss my brother more than anyone will ever know. I love you Chizz. Now you can finally have the peace you could never find here on earth….I love you, baby brother,” he added.

In recent years, Aaron Carter had been open about his ongoing battles with substance misuse and mental illness in a number of interviews. Due to “Aaron’s increasingly frightening behaviour,” Nick Carter and Aaron’s twin sister, Angel, claimed to have requested a restraining order against their brother in 2019.

Nick and Aaron had a strained relationship. Because of his substance abuse issues, the deceased rapper was estranged from his family, including the Backstreet Boys singer.

Hillary Duff stated – “For Aaron- I’m deeply sorry that life was so hard for you and that you had to struggle in-front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent…boy did my teenage self love you deeply.”
