‘Nope’ is an upcoming American sci-fi horror movie. It is written, directed and co-produced by Jordan Peele under Monkeypaw Productions. The movie is about the residents of an isolated town who witness a mysterious and abnormal event. Here is everything you need to know about the movie.

The movie was shot in Santa Clarita, California reportedly in June 2021. The production got an estimated $8,364,000 worth of tax credits to shoot the movie in the state of California.

‘Nope’ release date

According to the artwork, the film by Universal Pictures is to be released on July 22, 2022. The movie will be released exactly a year after the announcement. The Alamo Drafthouse Cinema will hold a special screening at Sunset Ranch Hollywood on July 25, 2022. The movie will be released in the UK on August 12, 2022. ‘Nope’ will make its streaming debut on Peacock, with the earliest possible date being 45 days after its release. 

‘Nope’ movie cast

The movie features Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, and Steve Yeun. Daniel Kaluuya will be seen as the main lead, OJ Haywood. Keke Palmer will star as the female lead as OJ’s sister, Emerald. This would be the actress’ biggest role since 2019’s ‘Hustlers’. Steven Yeun will be Ricky “Jupe” Park. 

‘Nope’ movie plot 

The story will revolve around the life of ranch siblings OJ and Emerald. Their father is killed by a random object falling from the sky. The siblings attempt to capture video evidence of the falling of an unidentified flying object with the help of a tech salesman Angel Torres and documentarian Antlers Host. 

“Nope stands out from my other films as this is a bigger adventure than I ever tried to tell. From my filmmaking perspective is by far my most ambitious,” said Jordan Peele in a BTS video released by IMAX.
