The first trailer for the Disney+ ‘Star Wars‘ limited series ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi‘ has been released.

The series consists of six episodes and sees Ewan McGregor return to play the titular Jedi Master. Hayden Christensen also returns to play Anakin Skywalker, who we know eventually goes to the dark side and becomes Sith Lord Darth Vader.

This story is set 10 years after the events of ‘Revenge of the Sith’ and hints at darkness and defeat for the titular character. As per The Hollywood Reporter, the tale is set where “Obi-Wan faced his greatest defeat — the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader”.

In the trailer, we also see Obi-Wan keeping a watchful eye on Luke Skywalker, who’s a young boy at this point. Meanwhile, the Jedi Master is hunted by the Grand Inquisitor, played by Rupert Friend. We also understand that the typical Jedi compassion becomes Obi-Wan’s trademark, which is how he can be tracked. It isn’t a safe time to be a Jedi, with hunters around, as Obi-Wan tries to deal with Anakin’s betrayal.

Moses Ingram, Joel Edgerton, Bonnie Piesse, Kumail Nanjiani, Indira Varma, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Sung Kang, Simone Kessell and Benny Safdie round out the cast.

While Disney+ opted to go with original compositions for the other ‘Star Wars’ shows, in ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ we hear the score by John Williams, ‘The Duel of the Fates’ track from ‘The Phantom Menace’ being used. However, it is unclear whether it is also used throughout the rest of the series.
