Three weeks after the death of Takeoff, Offset is still “missing” the rapper and is unable to get past the “unbearable pain.”
The 30-year-old rapper, whose real name is Kiari Kendrell Cephus, posted a picture of his late cousin wearing a diamond necklace, a floral blouse, and a grey suit jacket on Instagram on Wednesday.

“The pain you have left me with is unbearable. My heart is shattered and I have so many things to say, but I can’t find the words. I’ve been going to sleep and waking up hoping that all of this is a dream, but it’s reality, and reality feels like a nightmare,” Offset wrote.
Takeoff, whose real name was Kirsnick Khari Ball, was shot and killed on November 1 at a Houston bowling alley after a fight broke out and a gun went off.
His former colleagues from the Migos, as well as his family, paid tribute to him during a celebration of life that was held in Atlanta after his loss.

“I wish I could hug you one last time,” Offset wrote, recalling how Takeoff’s preferred greeting was a hug rather than a dap. “Laugh one last time. Smoke one last time. Perform one last time. I know someone with a soul like yours is in heaven now. I hope you can see how much we love and miss you. You have left a hole in my heart that will never be filled.”
“Given e strength, give your brothers strength. Even though I know you will always be with us, throw me a lil sign or a beautiful dream. I love you forever, 4L and after,” Offset concluded his note.
The note was accompanied by a collection of photos and videos of Takeoff and Migos over the years. Offset wrote in the caption, “Dear Take, doesn’t feel real posting you like this…. This still doesn’t feel like reality. I’ve been searching for the right words to say, but there aren’t any that will suffice. Until we meet again, Rest In Power. I love you.”
Quavo, Takeoff’s uncle, also posted heartfelt words about the loss on social media.
“This whole time I’ve been trying to figure out what you really are to me because nephew wasn’t it. We hated the word ‘nephew’ or when they said ‘Unc and Phew’ because we always knew we were way closer than that and it made me feel old too,” Quavo wrote.
“Now I finally get it… you are OUR angel watching me and watching us this whole time in living form, making sure EVERYONE FELT UR LOVE AND HUGS while u here and u made our dreams come true.”

Since then, a number of musicians have paid tribute to the Grammy-nominated artist who, along with Migos, is credited with popularising the triplet flow in hip-hop and scoring two No. 1 albums with 2017’s Culture and 2018’s Culture II.
