Late actor Sridevi, born as Shree Amma Yanger Ayyapan, is considered the first female superstar in Indian cinema. Having worked in films of several languages including Telugu, Tamil and Hindi, Sridevi was awarded with a National Film Award, a Nandi Award, the Tamil Nadu State Film Award, the Kerala State Film Award, three Filmfare Awards among others.

August 13 marks the birth anniversary of the icon, and while she had set a trend for women to pursue their careers in cinema in a grand manner, she had also brought forth some timeless fashion trends.

 Mr. India

In the song “Hawa Hawai” from the film “Mr. India” Sridevi sported three distinct looks. The first one was a golden gown, the second one was a flowy, elegant gown and the third was a red ensemble. The actor looked gorgeous in all of these looks and the song remained one of her iconic ones.

Chandni

The pink chiffon saree and the bangles became synonymous with Sridevi when she performed in “Mere Haathon Mein Nau Nau Chudiyan Hai” in the film Chandni, one of her biggest hits.

Sridevi’s iconic hairstyle in this movie was appreciated  by fans to an extent where they started imitating it. From wearing shabby sarees to the best clothesone can afford, the actor nailed every outfit in the movie.

Lamhe

In this film co-starring Anil Kapoor, Sridevi’s look in the song “Morni Bagama” is as charming as her. Especially her yellow skirt and the Rajasthani look that perfectly matches with it, grab the eye.
