Robyn Griggs,
popular for the roles she played in soap operas like Another World and One Life
to Live, died on Saturday. She was 49.
The American film, stage and television actress was suffering from cervical
cancer and used to put up constant updates on her health on social media. Last
month, she posted that she was diagnosed with 4 new tumors.

Born in the year
1973, in Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania, her start was in children’s theatre
productions. She started acting at a young age of 3 in a production of A Dolls
House. She played the role of Molly in Annie before she appeared on a kid’s
program named Rated K on Nickelodeon.

She started reaching the peaks of her career as she was cast as Stephanie Hobart on One Life to Live in the year 1991, for which she
gathered her popularity and was nominated for Young Artist Award. After that,
in 1993, she was cast as Maggie Cory on Another World, a role that she was
committed to for two years.

She had also taken
a break from her acting career for a while. After a couple of years, she returned
in 2001 with horror films like Zombiegeddon and Ghost Tour.

She also starred in
films like Several Injuries (2003), Dead Clowns (2004), The Absence of Light
(2006) and Hellweek (2010). She had also recorded a CD named – Love’s Young
Nightmare.

In an interview in
2021, the deceased actress stated that she learnt much of her discipline from working on the
soaps.

She was taken to
the hospital just days before her death. In the final interview about battling
cancer at the time of pandemic, she said that her way of coping was
laughing.
