Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, known for showing the inside realities of the fashion and entertainment world through his film like ‘Fashion’, ‘Heroine’ and ‘Page 3’, took to his social media to accept the apology received by Dharma Productions head honcho Karan Johar for using the title “Bollywood Wives” for his web show that has already been registered by National Film award winning director.

Dharma Productions’ new Netflix show has been titled “The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives”.

Bhandarkar said, “Dear @KaranJohar. Thank you for your response. This is indeed a close-knit industry and it operates on mutual trust and respect. When we blatantly disregard norms that we ourselves have established, then it makes very little sense calling ourselves a ‘fraternity’.”

Previously, Bhandarkar showed his disappointment on social media and blamed Johar for tweaking and using a title for his show that is already registered by him.

In response to this, Karan posted an apology in which he wrote, “I humbly apologise for any grievance that has been caused to you during the last few weeks. However, I would want to clarify that we have chosen this new and different title -The Fabulous Lives of Bollywood Wives keeping in mind the non-fiction format of our reality-based franchise series. As our title was distine, I did not foresee it upsetting you as it has and for that I duly apologise.”
